Things to know about the Explosion Protection Document;

As a result of the calculations and evaluations made by our experts in the evaluation of the working environment of your workplace, the areas where explosive atmospheres may occur in the work area are determined.

In order to ensure the safety of employees in workplaces within the scope of Occupational Health and Safety, there must be some documents. One of these is the “Explosion Protection Document”. The explosion protection document is briefly referred to as “PKD”. This document is prepared in order to protect the health and safety of employees from the dangers of explosive atmospheres that may occur in workplaces.

According to Article 10 of the “REGULATION ON THE PROTECTION OF EMPLOYEES FROM THE HAZARDS OF EXPLOSIVE ATMOTORS” published in the Official Gazette dated April 30, 2013 and numbered 28633 within the scope of the Occupational Health and Safety Law dated 20/6/2012 and numbered 6331, it is mandatory to prepare an Explosion Protection Document in businesses where there is a possibility of explosive atmospheres (gas and dust explosions). In addition, in accordance with Article 5 of the said regulation, the Employer is obliged to take technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the operations carried out in order to prevent explosions and to provide protection from them. The explosion protection document is prepared before the start of the work and is reviewed and updated in cases where significant changes, expansions or modifications are made in the workplace, work equipment or work organization.

In order to prevent any incidents such as loss of life and property in any emergency that may occur in the work environment and to prevent possible accidents, the Explosion Protection Document should be prepared and the necessary precautions should be taken in the light of this document. The Explosion Protection Document is the document that specifies the requirements to prevent harm to the personnel in the business, to minimize the risk of any explosion in the work machines and to prevent the damages that may occur in hazardous situations as much as possible.
